Phyllis Christiansen, age 92, of Aurora, formerly of Hampton, passed away Monday, March 21, 2016, at Memorial Community Care.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, March 24th at the United Lutheran Church in Hampton. Rev. Howard Rasmussen will officiate. Interment will be in the Hampton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 - 7 P.M. Wednesday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. Memorials may be made in care of the family. OBITUARY: PHYLLIS CHRISTIANSEN
Phyllis F. Christiansen, the daughter of Floyd and Pearl E. (Jones) Strolz, was born in Moorefield, Nebraska on December 27, 1923 and passed away in Aurora, Nebraska on March 21, 2016, at the age of 92.
She grew up in Sutton and graduated from Hampton High School.
Phyllis was united in marriage to Leslie Christiansen on November 19, 1944 at Hampton. She worked at Wall Grocery in Hampton for 12 years. Leslie passed away on May 8, 1983.
Phyllis was a member of the Hampton United Lutheran Church and the Women’s Group. She was a 50+ year member of the Order of Eastern Star, the American Legion Auxiliary Post #144 and various card clubs over the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers-in-law, Ivan Driewer and Arnold Heiden and a niece.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Gary (Cheryle) Christiansen of Lincoln; 4 grandchildren, Amber Christiansen of Lincoln, Scott Brand of Portsmouth, New Hampshire and Stacy Brand and fiancé of Jessica Estes of Lincoln; 3 great-grandchildren, Sophia, Larry and Anastasia; sister, Frances Driewer of Bradshaw; sister-in-law, Collene Heiden of Hampton and many nieces and nephews and many friends.
