Ruby Dieckmann

Ruby Dieckmann, age 99, of Aurora, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, August 5th at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Rev. Ron Harris will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 - 7 P.M., Thursday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Ruby Inez Dieckmann, the daughter of Ira Thomas and Mabel (Lee) Pickingpaugh, was born at Palco, Kansas, on December 7, 1916, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on August 2, 2016, at the age of 99.

She grew up in Palco, Kansas and graduated from Palco High School in 1934.

On October 21, 1942, she was united in marriage to Albert Arthur Dieckmann at Aurora. They farmed in the Giltner and Aurora areas, until 1975, when they retired and moved to Aurora. Albert passed away on May 23, 1996.

She was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church and a 33 year member of T.O.P.S.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, six brothers and four sisters.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her three sons, David of Douglas, Wyoming, Arthur (Ursula) of Lincoln, and Robert (Maureen) of Aurora; one daughter , Dianne (Michael) Nickolaus of South Sioux City; 12 grandchildren, Lori (John) Russom, Jeff Nickolaus, Rhonda (Troy) Nelson, Dawn Miller, Andrea (Scott) Schneider, Kelly (Troy) Lanka, Stacey Dieckmann, Tyler (Traci) Dieckmann, Heidi (Eric) Borden, Brett Dieckmann, Joshua (Lisa) Dieckmann and Jason (Crystal) Dieckmann; 19 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.
