Wanda Enderle, age 92, of Aurora, passed away Wednesday morning, August 31, 2016, at Memorial Community Care.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 3rd at the United Methodist Church in Aurora. Rev. Karla Sheffy will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will one hour prior to service time. Memorials may be made to the Aurora United Methodist Church. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. OBITUARY: WANDA ENDERLE
Wanda W. Enderle, the daughter of Harvey and Clara (Lyons) Cosier, was born at Aurora, Nebraska on March 1, 1924 and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska on August 31, 2016, at the age of 92.
Wanda grew up on a farm northeast of Aurora, attended school at District #19, and then graduated from Aurora High School in 1942. She worked at the telephone company for a short time after graduating.
Wanda was united in marriage to Donald C. Enderle on December 24, 1944 in Aurora, Nebraska at the Federated Church. Don was serving in the Army Air Corps at this time. So Don and Wanda began their life together in Kissimmee,Florida where he was stationed. After he was discharged, they returned to Aurora where they were engaged in farming. In 1950 they moved to their present home where they farmed until his retirement in 1993. Don passed away on January 7, 2005.
Wanda was an active member of the Evangelical United Bretheran Church and after the merger, the Methodist Church. She served on various committees and assisted her husband with the duties of treasurer, a position he held for 24 years. She enjoyed attending cattle shows with Don in Nebraska and other states. Wanda was a member of the neighborhood SOS Club and served one term on the County Extension Board. She was very involved in her daughter’s activities and then in her three grandchildren’s activities as well.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, and three siblings, Marjorie James, Helen Lee and Harold Cosier.
Those who remain to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Gayle James of Aurora; three grandchildren, Susan (Cory) Pawloski of Papillion, John James of Aurora, and Jeff James of Lincoln; a great-grandson, Ben Pawloski and other relatives and friends.
