John Erlenbusch

John Erlenbusch, age 70, of Ashland, formerly of Aurora/Hampton area, passed away on Friday, October 28, 2016, at his home.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 31st at Higby-McQuiston Chapel in Aurora. Pastor Jim Garfield will officiate. Interment will be in the Hampton Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Monday. Memorials may be made in care of the family to be designated at a later date. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. OBITUARY: JOHN ERLENBUSCH

Clemens John Erlenbusch, the son of Clemens Johannas and Delma (Hansen) Erlenbusch, was born at Aurora, Nebraska on October 28, 1946 and passed away in Ashland, Nebraska on October 28, 2016, at the age of 70.

He grew up on the family farm south of Aurora. John attended St. Peter Lutheran School in Hampton through the 8th grade. He graduated from Aurora High School in 1965. John served in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1966-1968. He was honorably discharged and returned to Aurora.

John married Donna Gustafson on October 5, 1968. John began his career with Swift Meat Packing Plant in Grand Island. During his 30 year career with the company he transferred from Grand Island to Omaha and before his retirement in 2000 he was working at the St. Charles Plant. John had a long battle with Parkinson disease and fought a good fight till his death.

John loved to hunt, fish and go camping with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Jason Erlenbusch.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Donna of Ashland; son, Scott (Tracie) Erlenbusch and their daughter Taylor of Gretna; daughter, Amy Erlenbusch (Gina Delmont) of DeKalb, Illinois and two brothers, Richard of Elkhorn and Keith (Sara) of Aurora; nephew, Rick (Tiffany) Erlenbusch and family of St. Libory; two nieces, Angie Moore and children of Omaha and Ruthie Mathson of Aurora and many other family members and friends.
