Marlyn Friesen, age 68, of Aurora, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2016, at Memorial Community Care.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, February 25th at Monroe Evangelical Free Church near Phillips. Rev. Bob Stretch will officiate. Private family inurnment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. No Visitation. Memorials may be made to the family. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. OBITUARY: MARLYN FRIESEN
Marlyn Kay Friesen, the daughter of W.K. and Betty (Hinkle) Bailey, was born in Palmer, Nebraska on April 22, 1947 and passed away in Aurora, Nebraska on February 20, 2016, at the age of 68.
Marlyn grew up in Aurora and graduated from Aurora High School in 1965.
Marlyn married Arlo Friesen on June 25, 1965 at Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson. After their marriage they lived in Chapman for a short time before moving to Aurora. Marlyn worked as a nurses’ aide at Memorial Hospital and in housekeeping at Hamilton Manor. In the last several years, Marlyn worked at Aurora Child Care. She started her own business, Kay’s Kleaning in 2003.
Marlyn enjoyed card club, bowling club, TeamMates mentoring program, scrapbooking, loved to go camping and being involved in 4-H. She attended Monroe Evangelical Free for the past 65 years. Marlyn was extremely strong in her faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Arlo of Aurora; four children, Melissa Friesen of Chandler, Arizona, Todd Friesen and Brenda Karr, Darren (Jessica) Friesen and Ryan Friesen and Teresa Anderson all of Grand Island; 12 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 8 brother and sisters, numerous nieces & nephews and close friends and her dog, Angel.
