Marva Gerlach, age 86, of Aurora, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Memorial Community Care.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, August 22nd at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Rev. Ron Harris will officiate. Inurnment will be at the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: MARVA GERLACH
Marva Rae Gerlach, the daughter of Seth A. and Lola M. (Smith) Best, was born in Callaway, Nebraska on August 15, 1929 and passed away in Aurora, Nebraska on August 10, 2016, at the age of 86.
She was raised in Broken Bow and graduated from Broken Bow High School in 1947. Marva worked at a soda fountain in Broken Bow, where she met Donald Gerlach.
Marva was married to Donald Edwin Gerlach on February 15, 1948. They lived in Broken Bow, where three of their children were born (David, Barbara and William). They moved to York for a short time before settling in Aurora in 1962, where their daughter, Ann, was born. Marva worked in the Steenburg Clinic in the front office and then as a ward clerk at Memorial Hospital until her retirement. Don passed away on January 19, 2007.
Marva was a member of Aurora United Methodist Church. She played bridge and was an avid reader.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, three children, David Gerlach, Barbara Gerlach-Bice and Bill Gerlach and her grandson, Daniel Gerlach.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Ann Gerlach-Lindauer and her husband Paul Lindauer of Boise, Idaho; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
