Bonnie Hoffman, age 70, of Hampton, went to heaven on Saturday, June 4, 2016, at Bryan/LGH West in Lincoln.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, June 8th at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York. Rev. Mike Neidow will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Immanuel Cemetery northwest of Polk. No Visitation. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at www.higbymortuary.com.
OBITUARY: BONNIE HOFFMAN
Bonnie Jean Hoffman, the daughter of Clarence and Edna (Bolte) Burhoop, was born in York, Nebraska on June 19, 1945 and passed away in Lincoln, Nebraska on June 4, 2016, at the age of 70.
She grew up in the Waco area and graduated from Waco High School.
On June 18, 1966, she married Larry Lee Hoffman. They lived in Bradshaw. When they moved to Fairmont area, Bonnie worked at the Fairmont School and Fairmont Nursing Home. After they moved to Hampton, she worked at Hamilton Telecommunications and later Casey’s, both located in Aurora. Larry passed away on July 25, 2011.
Bonnie enjoyed baking donut holes and cinnamon rolls. She loved gardening and would do a lot of canning from her garden. She was known for her dill pickles. Bonnie loved crocheting and putting together any other crafts that she could. She had a gift of playing the organ by ear. But most important to Bonnie was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Burhoop; step-father, Herman Schmidt; husband, Larry and sister, Phyllis Hoferer.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Scott Hoffman of York; daughter, Rhonda (Linus) Cloet of Sutton; 3 grandchildren, Sterling, Tyson and Angelina Cloet all of Sutton; mother, Edna Flowerday of York; two sisters, Jeanette Neumann of Colorado and Carlyn Ballard of Michigan and many other family members and friends.
