Lova Klawonn, age 78, of Aurora, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2018, at her home.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, July 7th at Zion Lutheran Church northeast of Hampton. Rev. David Feddern will officiate. Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 - 7 P.M. Friday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. Memorials may be made to family to designate at a later date. OBITUARY: LOVA KLAWONN
Lova Jane Klawonn, the daughter of Robert and Amanda (Holste) Nietfeld, was born at Ludell, Kansas, on March 8, 1940, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on July 4, 2018, at the age of 78.
She grew up at Worms, Nebraska where she attended Worms parochial school through the 8th grade with her twin sister, Lorna and brothers, Richard and Edgar. Lova graduated from Grand Island Senior High School in 1958.
On December 18, 1960, she was united in marriage to Bernard Leslie Klawonn at Zion Lutheran Church in Worms, Nebraska. Following their marriage they moved to Chicago and California for Bernard’s career. They returned to Columbus, Nebraska, and later lived in Elm Creek, before they moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. In September of 1974, they moved to Aurora where they opened the Montgomery Ward Catalogue Store until 1986. Bernard passed away on May 11, 1998. Lova worked for a time at Pump & Pantry, Bethesda Nursing Home, Casey’s, Hamilton Manor and the Aurora Mall.
Lova was an active member of the Hampton Zion Lutheran Church and Lutheran Ladies Aide. Family was very important to Lova. She loved watching Husker football and volleyball games. Lova always made time to walk her dogs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, an infant son Timothy A. Klawonn and two brothers, Richard and Edgar Nietfeld.
Those who remain to cherish her memory are her four children, Barbara (Larry) Crouse of Aurora, Kent (Sara) Klawonn of Viborg, South Dakota, Brenda Klawonn of Aurora and Kevin (Sara) Klawonn of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; 13 grandchildren; Miles (Nicole) Bliss, Jonathan (Sarah) Bliss, Zachariah Bliss, Brant (Amanda) Klawonn, Amanda (Eric) Larsen, Moyra Klawonn and Dietrich Klawonn, Jana and Jackson Klawonn, Dahir, Tavian, William and Mackenzie Klawonn; 4 great-grandchildren, Aedan, Ainslie, and Clayton Klawonn and Gabriel Bliss; twin sister, Lorna Nietfeld of Grand Island; sister-in-law, Alma (Dale) Rohde of Fremont and many other family members and friends.
