Welma Klute

Welma Klute, age 97, of Aurora, formerly of Hampton passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at Memorial Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, July 16th at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hampton. Rev. Jim Gruber will officiate. Private family interment will be in the Hampton Cemetery prior to the service. Visitation will be from 5 7 P.M., Friday at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 381 H Street, Hampton. OBITUARY: WELMA KLUTE

Welma Lorine Klute, the daughter of Richard F. and Emma (Driewer) Zierott, was born at Hampton, Nebraska on May 7, 1919 and passed away in Aurora, Nebraska on July 13, 2016, at the age of 97.

Welma was baptized by the late Rev. C.F. Brommer on May 18, 1919. She went to parochial school at Zion Lutheran in Hampton and was confirmed May 1, 1932 by the late Rev. H. Degner.

On December 25, 1938, Welma was married to Gerhardt (G.W.) Klute. They were blessed with two children, Allen and Norma Jean. They farmed and raised cattle near Hampton. G.W. was killed in a farm accident on September 17, 1972.

Welma was a member of Zion Lutheran Church until September 1948 when they transferred to St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hampton. She was an active member of St. Peter Church Ladies Aid, St. Peter L.W.M.L. holding numerous offices in both. Welma was an active member of the choir from 1933 - 1974 at both Zion and St. Peter. She was a member of the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, holding numerous offices and also a member of the Board of Directors of Memorial Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and sister, Ada Wilshusen.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her two children, Allen (Darlene) Klute of Hampton and Norma (Rich) Davis of Arizona; 5 grandchildren, Nadine (Brian) Bankson, Cara (Chad) Ortgiesen, Scott Brandt, Sheri (Lloyd) Shull and Shelly Marchetti; 9 great-grandchildren, Tyler & Travis Bankson, McKenna & Garrett Ortgiesen, Courtney (Gene) Robertson & Boe Shull, Mikkayla Davis, Tyler & Brittany Marchetti. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews and cousins.
