Dorothy Miller, age 93, of Lincoln, formerly of Aurora, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at The Independence House-Northview in Lincoln.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, September 13th at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Rev. Ron Harris will officiate. Inurnment will be at the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation & Viewing will be 5 – 7 P.M. Tuesday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora with Eastern Star Rites at 7 P.M. Memorials may be made to the family to designate at a later date. OBITUARY: DOROTHY MILLER
Dorothy R. Miller, the daughter of Lyle B. and Beulah Marie (Rose) McConaughey was born at Stockham, Nebraska on July 25, 1924 and passed away in Lincoln, Nebraska on September 5, 2017, at the age of 93.
Dorothy grew up in Aurora and graduated from Aurora High School in 1943. She spent two years in California and Texas before returning to Aurora in 1945. In 1947, she graduated from Grand Island Beauty School.
On February 13, 1954, she was united in marriage to Grant H. Miller at Wilbur, Nebraska. Dorothy was a hairdresser for 37 years in Aurora. Grant passed away on April 11, 1991.
Dorothy was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church and the Sarah Circle. She was also a 50 year member of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, two sisters, five brothers and step son-in-law, Jerry Tyler.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Herbert J. (Linda) Hutcheson of Lincoln; step-daughter, Judy Tyler of Olympia, WA; 5 grandchildren, Greg (Julie) Hutcheson and their sons, Evan, Ryan and Lukas, Suzanne Gasper and her daughter, Brianna, Jeremy Tyler, Jamison Tyler and Joy Tyler; 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
