Mary Ratzlaff

Mary Ratzlaff, age 93, of Stockham, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at her home.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 A.M., Monday, February 18th at the Higby-McQuiston Chapel. Rev. Paul Nauman will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 – 7 P.M. Sunday evening at the mortuary. Memorials may be made to the family to designate at a later date. OBITUARY: MARY RATZLAFF

Mary Ratzlaff, the daughter of Monico and Eloisa (Rodriquez) Montoya was born in Jensen, Colorado, joining her nine siblings on March 3, 1925 and passed away in Stockham, Nebraska on February 13, 2019, at the age of 93.

Mary graduated high school and attended business school before working at the Unemployment office in Omaha, where she met the man she was to marry.

Mary was united in marriage to Willard ‘Bill’ Ratzlaff on December 15, 1948 at St. Peter’s Church in Omaha. They moved to a farm near Polk for a few months, then to a farm near Stockham. They then moved to another farm near Stockham, where they lived for 47 years. Bill passed away on April 4, 2000. Mary continued to live in that same farm house.

Mary was an amazing cook! She loved playing cards and dominos. Mary enjoyed being outdoors. She enjoyed her garden and raising her flowers. She was always one you could call on for helpful hints. Mary loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Gordon Bruce Ratzlaff and all nine of her siblings.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two children, Bryan Ratzlaff of Ashgrove, Missouri and Mary Ann Ruzicka of Boelus; daughter-in-law, Lindy (Jerry) Jameson of Amherst; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, Crystina and Austin, Kyle and Kolyn, Taylor, Caleb and Avery, Paige, Cassie and Thomas, Ren and Rory, Scarlett and Valentine; sister-in-law, Lenora (Clyde) Goertzen of Bradshaw and many other relatives and friends.
