Keith Reichardt, age 83, of Aurora, NE, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2016, at Memorial Hospital in Aurora.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, June 1 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Aurora. Rev. Howard Rasmussen will officiate. Interment will be at Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 P.M. Tuesday at Messiah Lutheran Church, 415 S. 18th St., Aurora. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary at www.higbymortuary.com. OBITUARY: KEITH REICHARDT
Keith Russell Reichardt, the son of Russell and Marie (Winter) Reichardt, was born at Aurora, Nebraska on May 3, 1933 and passed away in Aurora, Nebraska on May 29, 2016, at the age of 83.
Keith grew up in Aurora and graduated from Aurora High School in 1951. He enlisted in the United States Army and served his country from March 12, 1953 until January 28, 1955. Keith served a year tour of Korea during the Korean Conflict.
Keith was united in marriage to Janice Nietfeld at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grand Island on February 5, 1961. Keith owned and operated Frontier Service Station in Aurora for seven years. He then worked for School District 4-R as a school bus driver/supervisor for 41 years until his retirement in 2003.
He was a charter member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Aurora and remained active in his membership.
Keith enjoyed camping for the past 50 years as well as bus tours. For their 50th wedding anniversary, the family went on a cruise to the Caribbean. He especially enjoyed watching the school and sporting events of his 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years, Jan of Aurora; daughter, Peggy (Ken) Hain of Lincoln; sons, Todd (Lisa) Reichardt of Aurora and Kirk (Missy) Reichardt of Aurora; grandchildren, Mitch (Alexis) Hain, Alex (Sarah) Hain, Jacey Hain, Jaime (Tim) Scheel, Jessa (Carson) Klute, Bryce Reichardt, Cade Reichardt, Taylor Reichardt, Brock Reichardt and Lauren Reichardt. He is also survived by his brothers, Robert Reichardt of TX and Jim (Ardith) Reichardt of Aurora; sister, Mary Jane (Oren) Rawlings of N.C.; many nieces, nephews other family members and friends.
