Rita Richter, age 63, of Aurora, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2017, at the Hamilton Manor.
A Graveside Service will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, July 14th at the Aurora Cemetery. Rita and her late husband, Terry will both be honored at this service. Visitation will be from 5 - 7 P.M. Thursday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. Memorials may be made to the family to be designated at a later date. OBITUARY: RITA RICHTER
Rita Annette Richter, the daughter of Russ and Phyllis (Cundall) Hultine, was born in Clay County, Nebraska on February 28, 1954 and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska on June 29, 2017 at the age of 63.
Rita was baptized and confirmed in the Saron Lutheran Church in Saronville. Rita graduated from Clay Center High School in 1972.
Rita was united in marriage to Terry Richter on April 2, 1986 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Following their marriage they lived in Clay Center and the past 20 years they have lived in Aurora. Rita worked at Dahlsten Truck Line for 23 years and then as office manager at VanCare for 17 years, before she retired. Terry passed away on January 26, 2012.
She loved to bake for her family and friends. Rita enjoyed playing the piano, crocheting and quilting.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, in-laws, Roy Richter & JoAnn Richter, nephew, Matthew Palmer and niece, Monica Maska.
Those who remain to cherish her memory are her three step-daughters, Shelly (Steve) Austin of Lincoln, Marcy (Bill) Rozevink of Grand Island and Mandy Richter and Joe Hawley of Farwell ; 6 grandchildren, Sydney and Tyson Trejo, Brody and Owen Austin, Morgan and Carter Hawley. She is also survived by her brother, Tom (Cheryl) Hultine of Omaha, sister, Kathy (Gary) Palmer of Arizona, mother-in-law, Peg Richter of Aurora; brothers-in-law, Rex (Becky) Richter of Aurora, Kim (Cindy) Richter of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Rick (Pam) Richter of Wathena, Kansas; sisters-in-law, Claudia (Richard) Maska of Yankton, South Dakota, Trish (Jerry) Hoegh of Lincoln and Lisa (Todd) Reichardt of Aurora; Corey (Jo-Hanna) Goettsche of Lincoln and Keri Goettsche of Arizona, several nieces and nephews and many close friends.
