Lois Schleichardt

Lois Schleichardt, age 75, of Aurora, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2020, at Westfield Quality Care.

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions in place at this time, interment at the Aurora Cemetery and a Memorial Service will take place at a later date. OBITUARY: LOIS SCHLEICHARDT

Lois Nell Schleichardt, the daughter of Raymond Henry and Maxine Frances (Kahler) Werth, was born in Aurora, Nebraska on October 26, 1944 and passed away on May 10, 2020 at the age of 75.

She grew up and attended school in Aurora. Lois graduated from Aurora High School in 1964. She worked at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

Lois was married to Gary Edward Schleichardt, Sr. on October 18, 1964 at Zion Lutheran Church north of Hampton. They had two children, Gary, Jr. and Dotty. They lived in Grand Island until 1970, when they moved to Aurora. Lois worked at the Aurora Country Club, Gars Gally, Shenigans, Memorial Community Care, The Hamilton Motor Inn and Chuck's Drive In. Gary, Sr. passed away on October 5, 2007.

Lois was baptized in the Methodist Church. She became a member of the Zion Lutheran Church. After she retired, she helped raise her grandchildren. Lois enjoyed fishing, word puzzles, listening to country music, watching TV and movies. She also liked to read, skating, walking and going for bike rides.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Nancy Jean Werth and Diana Britton and brother, Daryl Kahler Werth.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two children, Gary Edward Schleichardt, Jr. (Sandra) of Aurora and Dotty Jo Schleichardt of Colorado; 7 grandchildren, Jacob, Nicholas, Jessica and Anna Schleichardt, Tyler Schleichardt, and Richard and Adriana Aguilar and 6 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Caroline Serr of Lincoln; brother, Roger Werth of Hampton and many nieces & nephews, relatives and friends.
