Lucile Bengtson, age 84, of Aurora, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2022, at CHI Health St. Francis in Grand Island.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 27th at Zion Lutheran Church in Hampton. Rev. Tim Wells will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Hordville Cemetery prior to the service at 10:00 A.M. No Visitation. Memorials may be made to the family to designate at a later date. OBITUARY: LUCILE BENGTSON
Lucile Ruth Bengtson, the daughter of Victor A. and Emilie Lena (Mueller) Blase was born in Polk County, Nebraska on December 26, 1937 and passed away on July 30, 2022 at Grand Island, Nebraska at the age of 84.
Lucile was baptized on January 9, 1938 and confirmed on March 18, 1951 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Polk.
She attended grade school at Immanuel Lutheran Parochial School and graduated from Hordville High School in 1955. Lucile then attended nursing school at Lincoln General School of Nursing in Lincoln and graduated in 1958.
Lucile was united in marriage to Willis L. Bengtson on August 24, 1958 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Polk. Following their marriage she worked as a Registered Nurse in San Angelo, TX, Omaha, NE, Grand Island, NE, Hastings, NE and Kearney, NE. She retired in 2000. Willis passed away on December 31, 2007.
She enjoyed family time, quilting, sewing, crafts, gardening, puzzles and volunteering her time.
Lucile was a member of the Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Aurora and was a member of the Aurora Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter, Brandi Bengtson, sister, Eileen (Wilton) Forsman, brother, Duane Blase and in-laws, Mildred Bengtson, M.E. (Iola) Fowler, JM Bengtson, Darrel (Garnet) Goedeken, Harry (Janice) Thomas, Dennis Weeks and Jan Bengtson.
Those left to cherish her memory are her three children, Wayne (Stephanne) Bengtson of Bellevue, Lisa (Jeffrey) Rudd of Loveland, CO and Robert Bengtson of Lincoln; eight grandchildren, Jeremiah (Callie) Bengtson, Brittany Bengtson, Kyle Rudd, Leah Rudd, Kiera (Axel) Mendez, Jarod Bengtson, Alyssa Bengtson and Maddie Bengtson; two great-grandchildren, Kylian Mendez and Emersyn Mendez. She is also survived by in-laws, Joyce Blase, Jerrold Bengtson, Marjorie Bengtson, Dorothy Weeks, Larry (Sue) Bengtson and Dale (Penny) Bengtson and many other family members and friends.
