Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, June 1, 1994, at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.
OBITUARY: Wanda Cranfill
Wanda Jean Cranfill, the daughter of Arthur and Ehel (Winkle) Smith, was born at Checotah, Oklahoma, on Jun 18, 1931, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on May 28, 1994, at the age of 62 years, 11 months, and 10 days.
She grew up in Cheotah, graduated from Checotah High School, and attended Hills Business University in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
On July 13, 1957, she was united in marriage to J.C. Cranfill, at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. After their marriage, they made their home in Aurora, and she was employed at the Hamilton County Welfare Office for a time.
Wanda was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church, belonged to the Aurora American Legion Auxiliary, the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, where she worked at the thrift shop, and was a member of the Home Extension Club for a number of years. She also enjoyed working at the Aurora Library.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Horace Smith and a sister Gertrude Gray.
Those who remain to cherish her memory are her husband J.C. Cranfill of Aurora; 2 sons, Steve of Dallas, Texas, and Greg of Scottsdale, Arizona; 2 brothers, Hoit Smith of Colorado City, Colorado and Herbert Smith of Checotah, Oklahoma; 2 sisters, Thelma Limke of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Georgia Fink of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and other relatives and close friends.
