Joy Dick

Joy Dick, age, 93, of Aurora, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Memorial Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 A.M. Saturday, January 29th at the Chapel of Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. Rev. Mark Dunham will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the family to designate at a later date. Joy Ione Dick, the daughter of Edgar L. and Agnes D. (Fox) Ross, was born at Sutton, Nebraska, on April 8, 1928, and passed away on January 25, 2022 at Aurora, Nebraska at the age of 93.

She attended school at Stockham through the 10th grade and when that school was closed Joy graduated from Aurora High School. She went to work as a switchboard operator at the telephone company.

On September 1, 1946, she was united in marriage to Earl Jim Dick at her parent's home in Aurora. They had two children: Peggy and Craig. After raising the children, Joy worked at Pursley Cleaners and then worked with her husband working at their business, Nu-Way Cleaners. Earl passed away on March 16, 2015.

Joy loved all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; great-granddaughter, Forest Lynn Hughes; 3 brothers, Dwight, Dale and Edgar Dean Ross and a sister, Maxine Eloi.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her daughter, Peggy Ladd of Aurora; son, Craig (Natalie) Dick of Aurora; 5 grandchildren, Robin Nyberg, Shelia Tournor, Ross Dick, Barb Lacher and Josh Dick; 14 great grandchildren, Faith Gustafson, Kody, Dylan & Chris Mollenberndt, Zach Hughes, Gabby & Kyan Lacher, Heather & Scarlet Dick, Elliot Gough, Kailey, Emmett, Caleb & Levi Dick; 9 great, great grandchildren, Lucy, Milo, Abel & Greta Gustafson, Damien & Adrian Mollenberndt, Jaycee, Kaden & Kodah Hughes and many other family members and friends.
