Bonna Jean Driewer
Bonna Driewer, age 87, of Aurora, formerly of Hampton, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022, at Memorial Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 29th at Zion Lutheran Church north of Hampton. Rev. David Feddern will officiate. Interment will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will from 5 -7 P.M. on Friday at Zion Lutheran Church. Memorials may be given to the family to designate at a later date. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. OBITUARY: BONNA DRIEWER
Bonna Jean Driewer, the daughter of Ernest Oliver and Blanche (Higgins) Ham, was born in Saronville, Nebraska on March 28, 1934 and passed away in Aurora, Nebraska on January 23, 2022, at the age of 87.
Bonna attended grade school at Saronville and graduated from Sutton High School in 1951. She attended Lincoln School of Commerce in Lincoln and then went to work for Lincoln Liberty Life Insurance in Lincoln, Designing Interiors and Stop Two Shop both in Henderson and the Korner Cottage in Stromsburg.
On September 26, 1954, she was married to Dwain Lee Driewer at the Methodist Church in Saronville, Nebraska. They lived on Dwain's Home Farm place 3 miles east and 2 1/2 miles north of Hampton for 55 years. Dwain passed away on April 2, 2010. Bonna moved to Aurora in 2012.
Bonna was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and an active member of the Hampton Legion Auxiliary. She attended water aerobics in Aurora for 28 years to forestall onset of arthritis. Bonna was interested in genealogy and worked to accumulate family records.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dwain; daughter, Kathy Driewer Hartnett; great-grandson, Landon Driewer; sisters, Pat Hemje and Shirley VanGroningen and brother, Howard Ham.
Those left to cherish her memory are her four children, Debbie Albrecht of Omaha, Dennis (Wanda) Driewer of Hampton, Steve (Shari) Driewer of Marquette and Scott (Brenda) Driewer of York; son-in-law, Ronnie Hartnett; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
