Cindy Lee Friesen
Cindy Lee Friesen, of Grand Island, formerly of Henderson, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2021 at her home, with her beloved Beagle by her side.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 21st at Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson. Rev. Andrea Wall will officiate. Interment will be at the Farmers Valley Cemetery, east of Stockham. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, May 20 at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. Memorials are asked to be made out to the family for future designation or The Mennonite Central Committee (MCC-Bethesda Mennonite Church) as Cindy had been involved designing their logos, emblems and provided numerous pieces of unique artwork for auction. OBITUARY: CINDY LEE FRIESEN
Cindy Lee Friesen, the daughter of Louie Paul and Alma May (Kliewer) Siebert, was born at Lakewood, Colorado on November 13, 1956 and passed away in Grand Island, Nebraska on May 13, 2021 at the age of 64, with her pets Meow and Bella, whom she loved dearly.
Cindy graduated from Henderson Community High School. She was a self-taught artist, specializing in oil paintings, pencil sketches, framing artwork and hand-crafted cards. For many years, she owned and operated Knoll Studio in the second story turret of the Fidelity Building in Aurora and also taught step aerobics at the Bremer Center in Aurora throughout the 1990's. Cindy enjoyed a 20 plus year career with Younkers, specializing in Clinique Cosmetics and fine fragrances. She also worked at the Stuhr Museum in Grand Island for many years.
Cindy had two daughters, Ginny Lee and Brittany May. She spent many years raising her daughters on the farm, south of Henderson, NE before relocating to Grand Island, NE.
In recent years, Cindy enjoyed spending time with her parents, spending her weekends with her daughters and grandchildren, and gardening.
Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Ginny (Scott) Ganow of Aurora, and Brittany (Levi) Stamer of Grand Island, five grand children: Bailey Ganow, Carter Ganow, Eleanor Ganow, Samuel Stamer, and Leo Stamer. She is also survived by her parents, Louie & Alma (Kliewer) Siebert of Henderson; brother Paul (Jo) Siebert of Lincoln and sister Joni Siebert of Omaha and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was proceeded in death by special pets, Nan, Scooter and Collette.
