Dorothy Louise Klute

Dorothy Louise Klute, age 98, of Aurora, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Memorial Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday, December 12th at Cross of Christ Church in Aurora. Rev. Tim Wells will officiate. Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery north of Hampton. Visitation will be hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made in care of the family to be designated at a later date. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Dorothy Louise Klute, the daughter of Frederick and Lydia (Kemnitz) Bartels, was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 9, 1924 and passed away in Aurora, Nebraska on December 8, 2022, at the age of 98.

Dorothy Louise was baptized and confirmed in the Missouri Synod Lutheran faith. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Hampton and Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Aurora. While living in Chicago, she took private voice lessons for many years, and also attended Steinmitz High School and North Park College.

Dorothy Louise married Edgar Klute on September 14, 1946. They enjoyed golfing, going to Husker football games, traveling and of course, singing together. After nearly 40 years of farming near Hampton, they retired and moved to Hot Springs Village, AK. After her husband's passing, Dorothy returned to Nebraska where she spent the remainder of her life.

She was an avid golfer and loved playing bridge, but her passion was singing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and three brothers, Fred, Victor and Gerald.

She leaves behind three children, Daryl Klute of Lincoln; Larry (Carolyn) Klute of Hampton and Marilyn Armbruster of Lincoln; 3 grandchildren, Josh (Teri) Klute of Lincoln; Alicia (Armbruster) (Curtis) Carlson of Tea, SD and Claire Armbruster of San Diego, CA; 3 great-grandchildren, Olivia and Paige Klute and Aislyn Carlson and many other family members.
