Evelyn Maw

Evelyn Maw, age 92, of Aurora, passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Memorial Hospital.

A Graveside Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 22nd at the Giltner Cemetery. Pastor Penny Schulz will officiate. Memorials may be given to the family for future designation. OBITUARY: EVELYN MAW

Evelyn Elda Maw, the daughter of Wilhelm 'Bill' and Elizabeth (Feuerstein) Ott was born in Henderson, Nebraska, on August 25, 1928, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on March 18, 2021, at the age 92.

She grew up in the Henderson area, and attended country school. Evelyn graduated from Aurora High School.

Evelyn married Eugene 'Gene' Maw in California. After several years, the couple returned to Hamilton County to raise their family. They had six children: Monty, Tom, Linda, Vicki, Billie and Rhonda. Evelyn worked with Gene hauling trailers and for several other businesses around Aurora. Her last job before retiring was with Prittners. Gene passed away on September 6, 2001.

Evelyn was a member of the First Christian Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, doing word puzzles, tending to her flowers, playing cards, especially Canasta and going to garage sales and antiquing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gene; daughter, Linda Cole, two brothers, Orville Ott and Marvin Ott, sister, Wilma O'Brien; son-in-law, Larry Collingham and grandson, Jason Cole.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her five children, Monty (Jeanne) Maw, Tom (Peggy) Maw, Vicki Collingham, Billie (Doug) Monson, Rhonda (Larry) Johnson all of Aurora; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren, sister, Dolores Ellyett of Aurora and nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
