Karen Moncrief

Karen Moncrief, age 73, of Lincoln, formerly of Aurora passed away on Monday, February 25, 2019, at Southlake Village Rehabilitation and Care Center.

Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 2nd at the Stockham Community Church. Rev. Paul Nauman will officiate. Interment will be in the Harvard Cemetery, prior to the Memorial Service at 10:00 A.M. Visitation will be from 5 - 7 P.M. on Friday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. Karen Kay Moncrief, the daughter of Wilbert Fred and Helen D. (Nelson) Klein, was born in Palmer, Nebraska on March 19, 1945 and passed away in Lincoln, Nebraska on February 25, 2019, at the age of 73.

Karen spent her early years in Wolbach, NE and moved to Harvard when she was in fifth grade. She graduated from Harvard High School in 1963 and attended business school in Lincoln, NE. Karen began her career as an office assistant and eventually did what she loved most working with the elderly as the director of Clay County Senior Services.

Karen loved to garden and read and was actively involved in her church. She loved spending time with her family more than anything.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbert and Helen Klein, and brother, David Klein.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Kristi Auch (Richard) of Kansas City, MO and Karol Bredenkamp (Troy) of Lincoln; brothers, Garry Klein (Christy) of Hastings, Ralph Klein (Christine) of Aurora, Gordon Klein (Christy) of Giltner, Doug Klein (Vicki) of Lincoln, Randy Klein (Theresa) of Wahoo; sister, Patti Klein Marshall (Dave) of Sioux City, Iowa; grandsons, Mason Auch, Tate Bredenkamp and Truman Bredenkamp; granddaughter, Karsyn Bredenkamp and many nieces and nephews.
