Virginia Morgan

Virginia (Granstrom) Morgan, 91, of Aurora, passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 in Aurora.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, February 2nd at the United Methodist Church in Aurora. Rev. Greg Reed will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service on Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the the familyís choice, which will be: Prader-Willi Syndrome Research Association. Virginia Emma Granstrom Morgan, the daughter of Carl and Anna (Petersen) Granstrom, was born on the family farm near Minden, Nebraska, on February 20, 1927, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on January 30, 2019, at the age of 91.

She graduated from Minden High School and Hastings College with a degree in education. Virginia moved to Aurora in 1949 and taught at Aurora High School.

On February 24, 1952, she married Dean Morgan in Aurora and together they opened Morganís Menswear in 1953 and ran it together for 36 years. In addition, she was instrumental in the creation and management of The Village Square department store, also in Aurora.

Virginia was active in church, business and community events all of her life. She loved being involved in her children and grandchildrenís activities and spending time at the various cabins that she and Dean owned during their 66 years of marriage.

Virginia is preceded in death by her parents and infant sister.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her husband, Dean of Aurora; son, Robert (Kelly) Morgan; daughter, Becky (Chuck) French; 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Margaret Birchter of LaCrosse, Wisconsin and many other relatives and friends.
