LaRue Rehrs, age 91, formerly of Hampton, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at Parkview Haven in Deshler.
Funeral Services will be held 1:30 P.M., Saturday, February 12th at the St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hampton. Rev. Dan Barbey will officiate. Interment will be in the Salem Cemetery south of Hampton. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the Lutheran Homes in Watertown, Wisconsin, the American Heart Institution or for the benefit of diabetics. OBITUARY: LARUE REHRS
LaRue Jean Rehrs, the daughter of Gustav and Gertrude (Medow) Troester, was born in Hampton, Nebraska on January 29, 1931 and passed away in Deshler, Nebraska on February 8, 2022, at the age of 91.
She attended Salem Lutheran south of Hampton until 4th grade, then District 80 and 7th & 8th at St. Peters Lutheran in Hampton. LaRue graduated from Hampton High School Class of 1949. She had 14 classmates and was named homecoming queen her senior year.
On June 3, 1951, she was united in marriage to Dwayne 'Bud' Rehrs at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hampton. They had three children: Greg, Myra and Murray. Bud passed away on July 27, 1990.
LaRue enjoyed traveling, sewing, gardening, mowing, bowling, playing pitch and doing puzzles. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, the church choir, the Hampton Auxiliary 40 years, the L & M Extension and Hampton Women's Club. LaRue loved going to the grandkids school events.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Murray Rehrs and two brothers, Melvin Troester & Omer Troester.
Those left to cherish her memory are her two children, Greg (Geri) Rehrs of Omaha and Myra (Ryan) Schardt of Byron; daughter-in-law, Donna Jensen of Aurora; 6 grandchildren, Erin (Trent) Bass of Bennington, Jodi (David) Jefferson of Papillion, Stacey ( Cris) Hansen of Omaha, Justin (Linsey) Schardt of Beatrice, Sarah (Josh) Reher of Grand Island and Jeff (Megan) Rehrs of Aurora; 11 great-grandchildren, Madeline & Parker Bass, Peyton, Lincoln & Charlie Jefferson, Riley & Graham Schardt, Emma, Cole & Dylan Reher and Jace Rehrs and many other relatives and friends.
