Dennis Rich

Dennis Rich, age 62, of Aurora, passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020, at UNMC in Omaha.

Dennis's wishes were to be cremated. For everyone's safety, the family will hold a memorial service at a future date. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made in care of the family for future designation. OBITUARY: DENNIS RICH

Dennis Paul Rich, the son of Harry and Alice (Bogart) Rich, was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on August 14, 1958, and passed away peacefully in Omaha, Nebraska on December 18, 2020 at the age of 62.

Dennis grew up in Milwaukee, he attended Hamilton High School. Dennis served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Belknap (CG 26) from 1980-1984 before being honorably discharged. Dennis was an over the road truck driver for 32+ years. During that time, he lived in New York, New York and Portsmouth, Virginia before moving to Aurora, Nebraska. He retired from trucking due to his health.

On October 4, 2014, Dennis married Kathy Verplank at Aurora. They lived in Aurora.

Dennis was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Aurora Chapter of V.F.W. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Nascar and was most famous according to his family for his skills as a BBQ Chef.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Bogart Rich and his brother, David Rich.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Kathy of Aurora; three children, Brian (Deb) Cole, Lisa Ostendorf and Jamie (Cody) Wells; 8 grandchildren, Jackson, Ava, Paige, Zach, David, Jessa,Cora and Gabe (Mia) and 3 great-grandchildren, Brodie, Lillyanna and Zeek. He is also survived by his father, Harry; brother, Darren; sister, Donna; and other family members and friends.
