Linda Saatmann

Linda Saatmann, age 78, of Aurora, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at her home.

Graveside Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Monday, April 12th at the Grand Island City Cemetery. Rev. James Garfield will officiate. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at www.higbymortuary.com.

OBITUARY: LINDA SAATMANN

Linda Kay Saatmann, the daughter of Paul Ernest and Nona May (Wilson) Roberts, Sr. was born in Grand Island, Nebraska on March 6, 1943 and passed away in Aurora, Nebraska on April 6, 2021, at the age of 78.

Linda's parents were killed in a car/train accident in 1945, when she was 2. She was raised by Rose Simons. Linda attended school in Grand Island. Linda worked in Grand Island at Skagway for many years, and Walmart, Bosselman and her last job was at Coney Island.

On May 19, 1989, she was united in marriage to Mervin Christian Saatmann at Grand Island. They made their home in Aurora shortly after they were married. Linda continued to work in Grand Island. Mervin passed away on June 13, 2007. In 2019, Linda was diagnosed with macular degeneration.

She was a hard worker, working two jobs most of her life. She was a people person and the jobs she held allowed her to socialize with people.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and siblings, Charles Roberts, Paul Roberts, Roy Roberts, Bob Roberts, Goldie Armstrong, Eve Awtry and Judy Evans.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Mark Simons of Grand Island; step-daughter, Jerry Kay Hergenreder of Greeley, Colorado; step-son, Gary Bradshaw of Arizona; two step-daughters, Terry Span of Colorado and Sherry Bradshaw of Arizona; two granddaughters, Casey Lynn Hergenreder and Randie Jo Span; two grandsons, Brian Hergenreder and Josh Span; sister, Wanda May Crouch Wolfe of LaVista and lots of nieces and nephews.
